With an accomplished background in scaling technology companies, John brings decades of experience to the CEO position. He joined Chatmeter from CoStar Group, where he was President of Residential, responsible for its marketplace business since 2020. Previously, John was CEO of Homesnap, which he helped build into a market leader before selling it to CoStar Group for $250M in 2020. John has also held roles as CRO at Belly, a SaaS-based customer loyalty company, and ReachLocal, an online marketing solutions provider, where he was the CEO of the European Division and helped build from start-up to over $100M in revenue, eventually going public in 2010. John holds an MBA from Columbia Business School.
John brings over 20 years of experience working with growth-stage technology and digital media companies, having managed integral areas of business, including capital fundraising, acquisitions and divestitures, investor relations, strategic planning efforts, and business operations. Over the course of his career, John has raised over $200 million and managed financial operations in the U.S., Europe, and Asia. Prior to Chatmeter, he was Chief Financial Officer of Mapp Digital. John began his career with Arthur Andersen, LLP, and held the Chief Financial Officer role for Verve, Brickfish, Veoh Networks, and BakBone Software. John earned his B.S. in business and accounting from San Diego State Univeristy. Hailing from Midwest, you can always find John looking to be outside when not at work; whether it’s participating in action sports (skiing and motocross) or just tending to his 30+ fruit trees.
Dan is a passionate R&D leader with a 20-year track record of building high-caliber software engineering organizations based on a culture of innovation, curiosity, and a love of creating great software and technology. He has held various leadership positions including CTO and co-founder of ReadyTalk, a nationally acclaimed “Best Company to Work For.” Dan earned his BS and MBA from the University of Colorado, Boulder. In his free time, Dan contributes to various open-source software projects focused on IoT and smart-home automation as well as spending time with his family in beautiful San Diego.
Jared brings 15 years of results-driven customer success experience to Chatmeter with a focus on fostering customer relationships and building customer-facing teams. Jared has a proven track record in increasing account growth, NPS, retention, and driving measurable business outcomes for startups, Pre-IPO, and Post-IPO companies. He spent over 12 years at The Active Network and Medallia working in product, onboarding, operations, sales leadership, and GM roles. In his free time, Jared keeps up with his two children under 5 years old, travels the world, plays below-average golf, or works on defending his 3X Chatmeter Fantasy Football Championship.
Forrest Leighton is a senior B2B growth leader and marketing executive that has a history of transforming teams into outcome-driven organizations. He’s highly skilled at bringing new technologies to market, as well as aligning sales and marketing teams to drive revenue.
Nichole brings 10 years of experience working with publicly traded companies, venture-backed operations, and private-equity-owned firms. She has a proven track record of successful accounting systems implementations, process improvement initiatives, and project management to support company growth targets. Prior to Chatmeter, Nichole was the Corporate Controller at Mapp Digital, a role she also previously held at Verve. Nichole graduated from Northern Arizona University with a BS in Accounting (with Honors). Outside of the finance world, Nichole is a self-proclaimed travel addict and enjoys beach time and hiking with her family.
Ryan brings 20 years of experience building customer-obsessed teams to Chatmeter. He has proven success in growing and scaling Client Success teams for startups, Pre-IPO, and Post-IPO companies. He brings over 20 years experience at Verizon/Placesign and Hookit across Sales, Client Success, Support and Leadership. Ryan manages the Customer Success Teams and Strategic Account team while overseeing all existing revenue and customer growth.
Kathleen leads the People & Culture team, responsible for overseeing employee experience, including talent acquisition, onboarding, professional development and more.
She has two decades of experience creating high-performance teams, including most recently at Certona, where she led the HR function from early-stage through a successful acquisition. She also has extensive experience as a Human Resources consultant to leadership teams in the biotech and finance spaces.
Kathleen holds Senior Human Resources certifications from both HR Certification Institute and Society of Human Resources Management, as well as a Business Administration degree (with honors) from Dominican University. In her spare time, she loves to travel and explore the local San Diego food scene.

Bill is a managing director in PSG’s Kansas City office. He leverages his 20 years of experience as a CFO to help PSG portfolio companies enhance various financial-related activities. Previously, Bill was the CFO of Ascend Learning, a leading provider of educational content, software, and analytics. During his nearly nine years as CFO at Ascend Learning, revenue increased from $150 million to more than $450 million, and the company completed numerous acquisitions. Before Ascend Learning, Bill was the CFO of Hallmark Card’s various entertainment-related businesses.
Bill received a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts from Brown University.
Paul is a principal in PSG’s Boston office. Previously, he was a senior associate with Bertram Capital, a Bay Area-based private equity firm, where he focused on investments in the consumer and e-commerce sectors. Before that role, Paul was an investment banking analyst in the financials sponsors group at Morgan Stanley in New York.
Paul received a Bachelor of Science in Finance and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Pennsylvania State University.
Mark is a senior advisor with more than 35 years of experience in the provider, health plan and life sciences sectors. He is a seasoned CEO known in the industry for mergers and acquisitions, turnarounds and rapid growth situations. Mark most recently served as CEO of WebMD Health Services, where he led a company turnaround that spurred significant growth and numerous high-profile sales.
Mark received a Master of Business Administration from the University of Miami and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Florida Atlantic University.
Collin started Chatmeter in August 2009. Prior to Chatmeter, Collin was VP of Product Management and Marketing at V-Enable (now GroundTruth). His extensive experience in the local search industry, both online and mobile, provides a solid direction for the company. He has worked in leadership roles at several other startup companies and held other notable positions in product and marketing roles at Akamai Technologies and AT&T Wireless. He earned his MBA from San Diego State University and BA from UC Riverside.
